An Advent Faith Enrichment Series via Zoom will continue Wednesday, December 11. In preparation for the celebration of our 120th Church Anniversary, the focus of this series is on the history as a foundation for the future. If you want to participate, please contact Fr. David (dfmg@aol.com) and he will send you the Zoom link. Sessions begin at 7:00pm and will be about 45 minutes in length, with questions afterward. This week's topic is The Saints Who Founded Our Parish: Saint Patriarch Tikhon and Saint Alexander Hotovitsky. Take advantage of this series; it will offer you a chance to slow down, reflect and experience the4 Lord's presence in a deeper, more personal way this Advent season.
The Annual Christmas Cookie Sale of the St. Anne's Guild is set for Sunday, December 15th, during Coffee Hour. A large variety of homemade goodies will be sold. Cut out some holiday stress this year - come and see what you'll find. All the proceeds will benefit the Church School program and related youth/family events. If you want to help bake, please contact Karen Berezniak (732-754-0033 or kberez@comcast.net) (Note: All donations can be dropped off in the church hall for packaging on Saturday, Dec. 14th at 10:00am)
In support of the 2024 Charity Initiative for the Diocese of NY & NJ, there will be a Second Collection taken next Sunday, Dec. 15, during Liturgy, to enable the Diocese of Alaska to grow its newly-established Clergy Stipend Fund. The clergy and many churches of this diocese face a deeply troubling financial situation. Most Alaskan Orthodox Christians live in small rural communities where the cost of living is extraordinarily high. Some clergy have been forced to leave the priestly ministry to provide for their families, and many pious young men considering the priesthood have hesitated to anser the call., with abject poverty looming in their future. Thank you in advance for your generosity! (NOTE: To encourage donations, the first 25 people who give at least $50.00 will receive a special gift.)
Please write your check out to Ss. Peter and Paul, with a note in the memo field referencing Alaska Fund.
The Annual Parish Choir Holiday Concert for the community will be held on Sun, December 15th, at 3PM , in the church. Please set the date aside.
FOOD CARD PROGRAM : Food cards are available for various supermarket chains after Divine Liturgy, and do not cost any more than the face value of the card. The church receives a percentage as a free fundraiser! See Judy Znaiden in church or at jznaiden@optonline.net.
